Mahalapye will host a one day Under 21 football tournament for the Mahalapye region on July 23. 

In an interview with organiser of the tournament, Patrick Masheto said the tournament would consist of 12 teams from villages surrounding Mahalapye and Shoshong. 

Masheto said the tournament started in Molepolole on June 11 and would be conducted in all regions across the country, adding the tournament will continue in  Palapye on Sunday and in Serowe July 31. 

He said the objectives of the tournament was to tap inner talents from young boys, to preserve the talent they had instilled from grassroot level and to help football clubs to have a pool of quality players to choose from.

He said also the tournament would help football clubs and regions to improve and consequently qualify for bigger national tournaments like the premier league and to minimise chances of being victims of relegation.

Masheto said Zebras head coach ,Peter Butler, assistant coach Oris Radipotsane and other premier league coaches would grace the tournament. ENDS
