Project awaits funds

GABORONE - Minister of Minerals, Energy and Water Resources Mr Kitso Mokaila has said he is aware that Damochojenaa and Mmadinare villages are currently experiencing water shortages.
Answering a question in Parliament on July 13, he said the problem arises from the fact that two boreholes that supply Damochojenaa village have since dried up.
He further said to address the problem, Damochujenaa is being bowsed, however in the long term both villages will be connected to the Selebi Phikwe-Serule water transfer scheme.
Minister Mokaila also said water Utilities Corporation is still sourcing funds for the project.
He also stated that the project is not being funded under the Economic Stimulus Programme.
Mmadinare MP, Mr Kefentse Mzwinila had asked the minister about what was being done to address the water situation in the two villages.ENDS
