Mmankgodi clinic to have maternity
08 Jul 2016
Assistant Minister of Health, Dr Alfred Madigele says the Mankgodi Clinic is planned for upgrading to a clinic with maternity in the 2018/19 financial year.
He said his ministry was aware that Mmankgodi Clinic was not visited regularly by doctors from Thamaga Primary Hospital because of the critical shortage of doctors since October 2013.
He stated that the number increased from three in October 2013 to five in January 2016, adding that it was worth noting that Mmankgodi Clinic would be visited regularly with effect from August 2016, as the process of receiving more doctors was ongoing.
The Member of Parliament for Gabane-Mmankgodi, Major General Pius Mokgware had wanted to know when the Mmankgodi Clinic would be upgraded to cater for maternity.
He also asked the minister if he was aware that a doctor was not visiting the clinic regularly as was arranged, and when would the situation be normalised. Ends
