No progress on broadcasting of Parliament proceedings
06 Jul 2016
There has not been any progress made on the motion on broadcasting of Parliament proceedings, the Assistant Minister for Presidential Affairs and Public Administration, Mr Dikgang Makgalemele has said.
Mr Makgalemela told Parliament on Tuesday that this was so because live broadcast of parliamentary debates was considered for implementation during the National Development Plan 11 period.
Responding to a parliamentary question from MP for Selebi Phikwe West, Mr Dithapelo Keorapetse, the assistant minister said parliamentary live broadcast requires the establishment of a dedicated parliamentary studio, associated facilities and operational costs.
MP Keorapetse had asked the assistant minister on the progress made on implementation of a motion passed by the 10th Parliament on the broadcasting of Parliament proceedings. ENDS
