Organiser of Ouma Cycling Charity Tour (OCCT),  Ouma Rammidi has began her annual tour of raising awareness in which she targets 120 communities.

The tour started at St Joseph College and will come to an end on 18 September.

In an interview,  Rammidi said she would raise awareness on cervical cancer, social and entrepreneurship skills.

Rammidi stated that she was in partnership with the Presidential Housing Appeal (PHA) adding that she would not accept any money during her tour.

She said she was inspired to start the tour after seeing many women die of cancer which could have been avoided if there was timely intervention.

“My mother was a victim too and I got inspired to start this tour and let women know that it can be controlled,” she said.

She said OCCT would during this year’s tour also inspire men, women and the youth.

Rammidi said the charity tour was not meant for fund raising purposes.

However, she said if anyone wishes to contribute, they could donate to the PHA.

Through, her partneship with PHA, she said they were building a house for a destitute in Seherelela which would be handed over to its owner next month.

Rammidi explained that she was getting overwhelming response from Batswana.  ENDS
