A number of youth who attended the business skills workshop in Palapye have been urged to put into practice skills imparted to them.
Speaking during the award ceremony for the 90 youth, the Assistant Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry Advocate Sadique Kebonang encouraged them to be at the fore-front of the country’s economic activities.
He said from the workshop, they have been equipped with life skills that will help them navigate the economic terrain decisively and knowledgeably.
The four day workshop was sponsored by Botswana Accountancy College in conjunction with Centre for business and secretarial Training (CBST). It is organised by Assistant Minister of Education and Skills Development and also area MP Mr Moiseraele Goya.
Advocate Kebonang implored graduates and all those who will come after them to demonstrate humility, modesty, dedication, and determination as they put to application, the skills they have learnt.
He appealed to stakeholders to continue harnessing and cultivating potential the youth have and to channel them towards self-actualisation and self-development.
He said people must strive to engage the enormous talents of the young generation that has shown great promise and demonstrated a willingness to initiate, instigate, propel, or even support national development.
For his part, Mr Goya said the workshop marked an important milestone in the country’s national agenda of developing Botswana into a knowledge based society. He said acquiring knowledge was very important since the difference between rich and poor countries as well as the difference between rich and poor people was knowledge.
