Prisons VI discipline upsets coach

04 Jul 2016

Prisons VI Men Volleyball Club coach Kealeboga has attributed his team’s dismal performance in the Mascom Volleyball League games to lack of discipline.

In an interview after a game played at the Lobatse Sports Complex on Saturday against BDF VI, Pebe said the players had not been performing to his expectation adding that team work was very important.

He said there were some players who did not pitch up for training,  or games resulting in poor performance of the team.

During the game against BDF VI, Pebe said there were some players who were not interactive during the game, hence losing dismally against their opponent.

BDF VI walloped Prisons VI 3-0.

He however said he was hopeful that his team would improve its performance in the coming games.

As a team coming out of a disciplinary force, he said it would not be difficult to bring the team to order adding that he would take the team’s issues to the relevant authorities so that they could be attended to.

During the games, BDF VI sailed through the first round as the game started cold without much attacks and punches from both teams.

However, the little attacks that BDF VI put through, Prisons VI defenders were able to block, but capitilised on the little mistakes that Prisons VI made to score more points, ending the set at 25-17 in favour of BDF VI.

The second set saw Prisons VI trying all they could through Brave Tjienda to attack their opponents but BDF VI defenders came in hard to defend the attacks.

The second set also ended with BDF VI men winning by 25-13 points; taking to the third set with a 2-0 lead.

Even though Prisons VI came back more determined to win the third set as compared to other two sets, that was not to be as BDF VI  men were in a mean mood and won it by 25-17 points.

BDF VI coach Selebatso Mabutho said their opponents were not so much challenging hence having one of the easiest game of the season.

He however said his boys did not take the team light as they took their energy out to win all the sets.

He said their opponents coming through in the third set was due to his players mental strength which was taken down by the poor performance from the opponents.

However, he said he he was happy that they did not lose the last set as it would have meant that they prolong the game.

He said he was impressed by his team’s performance and was looking forward to a win in the coming games. ENDS
