Thirty five students and five teachers from Charleston’s Academy in Scotland visited Lotsane Senior School through the British Council’s global partnership exchange programme.
Addressing students and teachers during the Charleston Academy School headmaster, Mr Chris O’Neill said the cultural exchange partnership with Lotsane Senior Secondary School was important as it allowed students and staff to learn from one another. The two schools visit each other every two years.
He said the staff and students from the two schools had a lot to learn about culture, respect for humanity and dignity.
Mr O’Neill said the cultural exchange programme they have with Lotsane Senior is assisted by British Council adding that since 2010 they have had four visits to Lotsane where 150 students benefited from the exchange.
He said although they share information and learn each other’s cultures, education system and customs, they also exchange ideas on how to grow and become better human beings.
He said the Charleston’s Academy staff members and students appreciated the value of learning from Lotsane through the cultural exchange programme.
He expressed hope that the partnership would continue for years so that students and staff from the two schools could continue learning from each other.
