Young aspiring entrepreneurs are expected to flock Mmathubudukwane in the Kgatleng district for the second Dinokeng Youth Entrepreneurship Expo at Cosmos fc grounds on July 2.

The expo is a progression from last year’s event which was a piloting project and this year’s edition will be under the theme: Promoting youth entrepreneurship and unlocking strategic partnership opportunities in the Kgatleng district.

Event organiser, Mr Anthony Rasetshwane said the expo seeks to reach out to Mmathubudukwane youth and the Kgatleng district in general to expose them to services which they do not have access to.

Botswana Stock Exchange chief executive officer Mr Thapelo Tsheole is expected to be the guest speaker. He said the reason they brought Mr Tsheole was for him to provide a word of expertise with regard to being an entrepreneur. He said young people will also have time to mingle and seek advice from him under a relaxed environment.

Mr Rasetshwane explained that the expo had already got a lot of support from the Kgatleng business fraternity with the likes of Mochudi council, land board and other government entities who came on board to make it a success.

He said the objective was to help produce young leaders in the business world noting that they have set a five year programme through which they target to produce young successful entrepreneurs and young leaders.

He said the participants should also be able to tap knowledge from the invited business leaders from different sectors.

“We have targeted to have 40 stalls on the day from different companies and organisations and to this far we have confirmed 20 stalls. However people have shown interest and a lot of requests are still coming in,” he said.

Mr Rasetshwane appealed to the business sector to be part of initiatives like the expo to help improve the lives of Batswana, especially the youth. ENDS
