Orange Foundation sponsors women expo

Orange Foundation will sponsor the National Women’s Expo with P500 000 for a third year running.
The Ministry of Labour and Home Affairs holds the women expo annually through the gender affairs department.
The event targets women entrepreneurs who showcase their products and learn from one another. This year’s theme is: Botswana Women at 50; Re gatetse Pele, which is a reflection of Batswana women in business and their journey over the past 50 years.
According to a press release from Orange Botswana Foundation, Orange’s continued participation and sponsorship of the expo is one of the ways that the company fulfils the foundation’s mandate of supporting and empowering women in business.
According to the statement, the public relations manager, Ms Boga Chilinde-Masebu says they see themselves as key partners in sustainability and empowerment of these women
“Orange has committed to supporting the annual women’s expo because we believe in women, we believe in their talent and potential, we appreciate their struggles and we believe in polices that aim to represent and address issues of women”, says the release.
This year, Orange has committed resources of over P500 000 towards success of the exposition that included SMS broadcasting, publicity and the unique prize award awarded to two women who showcase the most unique business idea product or service.
The expo will be held in Gaborone from June 27–July 3 and in Francistown on August 22-28. ENDS
