Gaborone based ladies volleyball powerhouses, Kutlwano and Mafolofolo beat Selebi Phikwe Volleyball Club (SVC) and Mag Stimela at Serowe College of Education sports gallery to return to the capital city with six points apiece on June 18. 

Though Mafolofolo smothered both SVC and Mag Stimela 3-0, the rivals Kutlwano lost a single set to the Mahalapye side Mag Stimela. 

During the encounter against the Mahalapye based ladies, Dopp Popo’s Kutlwano ladies sailed through the first two sets before Maboka Molefhi’s Mag Stimela convincingly bagged the third and sent the game to the fourth set. 

After tasting blood, Mag Stimela ladies ferried a load of ammunition to demolish the Big House, as Kutlwano are acclaimed, but Popo’s ladies had an escape route at the back door. Sensing that they could be besieged by the ladies from the BR Express base, the Big House ladies escaped in the fourth set so they could replenish energy for a somewhat lackluster show with submissive SVC.

The fourth set saw Big House send Mag Stimela down the perking order where they belong as Popo’s ladies sought to ascend up at the high echelons of ladies volleyball.  

Celebrated Tracy Chaba and Thapelo Kamberuka were ferocious on attack which more often than not received applause from spectators.

Against SVC, the Big House got into the courts and staged a complete walkover although Makgetla Greanna’s ladies developed some self-belief in the third set where they lost it 25-21. 

Nonetheless, the newbies lost 3-0 and remained rooted at the bottom of the log with four points from six games.

Mafolofolo on the other hand were on no compromising mode to gift stragglers any set. In their first game against SVC, Kabo Ntshinogang’s ladies smashed the Selibe Phikwe novices 3-0. 

Mafolofolo were so uncompromising that new entrants failed to score above ten points in all the sets. 

The likes of Tsholofelo Retshabile and Taboka Tema were too hot to handle for Phikwe’s Tshephang Bathoeng and her company of inexperienced ladies. 

In their final game Mafolofolo were on another rampage, grinding Mag Stimela 3-0. ENDS
