Young Motswana makes a difference

Giving back to the community is a good gesture. Government also encourages people who are willing to come forth to help fight poverty in the society.  A young Motswana who is a personal trainer has since seen it fit to organise a mini aerobathon to raise funds to help an underprivileged person. 

In an interview with BOPA, the event organiser Tshepo Hirschfeld said not only will the mini aerobathon be organised for charity but come as a way to engage the youth to exercise as they are hard hit by different ailments and therefore unfit.Hirschfeld said the event will be on June 18th at Peleng Community Hall adding that preparations for the event are at an advanced stage.

He said the mini aerobathon is also aimed at raising funds for the underprivileged person to improve his standard of living by opening a tuck shop for him.He said he has invited aerobics clubs from all over the country where individual participants will be charged  P75  and also selling snacks to raise part of the funds for the tuck shop.

 Hirschfeld said he hopes to engage several sponsors among them First National Bank, Letshego and Bayport to help with the rest of the activities at the hand over.He said he intends to work with the government to give back to the less privileged. 

He was also looking forward to engage the town authority being the  the Lobatse Town Council for assistance in organising such events.He said it is his first time doing charity work and he intends to continue so as to help a lot of people, adding that in the future he will open a fitness center for charity.

Hirschfeld said as a young Motswana who grew up as a fitness fanatic he saw it fit to do such an event so that he can also help people to learn to give their fitness and health deserving attention.He emphasised that he wants to help people while he is still young and active. He also encouraged his fellow age mates to eradicate poverty.  ENDS
