Shoprite gives trust P25 000

20 May 2013

Minister of Defence, Justice and Security, Mr Dikgakgamatso Seretse has received on behalf of the Ipelegeng Development Trust P25 000 from Shoprite Checkers on May 17.

The donation will help in the erection of solar panels for the ten houses that were donated to destitute persons in March this year in Serowe.

Minister Seretse who is a patron of Ipelegeng Development Trust said they had been building houses for destitute people since 2006. He said they intend looking at the whole country instead of focusing in Serowe.

He said they saw it fit to extend a helping hand because those families who moved to Serowe in 2007 were unable to build appropriate structures for themselves.

Mr Seretse commended Shoprite Checkers for the gesture and encouraged them to continue their social cooperate responsibilities, by giving back to the community they serve.

Grit-tech (PTY) Ltd was approached to consider providing long term specialized solar systems for inside lighting, cellphone chargers, a battery box and enough power to run basic electrical devises.

The company has however fitted all homes with solar systems hence the P25 000 donation would help pay Grit-tech. ENDS
