Tsabong JCI has new leadership

 Junior Chamber International (JCI) in Tsabong has a new leader in Ms Lesego Mosetlheng.

JCI national president, Ms Florence Chilisa, recently inaugurated  Ms Mosetlheng during a presidential induction dinner.

Ms Mosetlheng, who is the fourth JCI Tsabong president, received the baton from Ms Kelly Gaeemelwe.

Also inducted were board members namely Mr Kolobetso Otlhasitse as vice president, Mr Tamalo Galofiwe as tresurer, Ms Lorato Ntau as secretary general, Mr Dunah Ntshekisang and Mr Kitso Toto as additional members.

Ms Gaeemelwe congratulated Ms Mosetlheng for taking a bold step to lead change with more conviction and confidence.

 “Ms Mosetlheng and your team, it is time to join our heads, hearts and hands together in finding sustainable solutions for the challenging issues across Kgalagadi District,” said Ms Gaeemelwe.

Ms Mosetlheng said she was humbled by the opportunity to inspire change.

She said she was confident that she would motivate her team to act on their ideas, goals and learn how to maximize their impact.

Ms Mosetlheng said she was looking forward to make use of her one year term to further JCI mission and vision in line with the global sustainable development goals.

She said she was more energised after attending at this year’s edition of JCI Africa and the Middle East Conference in Johannesburg.

The conference enabled young active citizens, partners and stakeholders from the region and elsewhere around the world to participate in inspirational sessions, impactful workshops as well as attend the general assembly meetings. 

Business advisor at Local Enterprise Authority, Mr Golebaone Molefe, said underscored the need to build and strengthen partnerships. 

“Partnerships create learning platforms, information and ideas sharing sessions as well as networking opportunities,” said Mr Molefe.

In addition, he said partnerships were complemented by sharing the same values, strengthening personal contacts and increasing mutual understanding between the community, the business community and the government.

Mr Molefe also challenged the new president and her board to further the JCI mission, concurring with the saying  ‘driven people are doers.’

“I call you Ms Mosetlheng to inspire volunteerism, learning, innovation, wellness, achievement, the community and most importantly to grow JCI in Kgalagadi,” said  Mr Molefe.

JCI Tsabong is part of a worldwide network of nearly a quarter of a million members, young leaders between the age of 18 to 40 years who believe in embracing new ideas, collaboration and diversity; they have passion and the courage to address the critical challenges of our time.

Through various local, national and international projects and events JCI members meet, learn and grow.

JCI develops skills, knowledge and understanding to help members make informed decisions and take action. ENDS
