One of the subcommittee members Mr Podile was of the view that postponement was likely to affect the intention to prepare for the roving torch and the 50th independence celebrations preparatory meetings that were to kick start immediately after the event.
The minister felt it was late for the village to have not yet started the 50th anniversary independence preparatory meetings arguing that the two could have been going in parallel instead of concentrating on one thing at a time. He urged office of the Deputy District Commissioner for Thamaga/Sub district to intervene and ensure formation of committees for the big day for the nation as they were running behind time. ENDS
