This year's Business Botswana Trade Fair, formerly  Botswana Confederation of Commerce and Industry Manpower (BOCCIM) Fair, is scheduled for May 25-29.

In an interview, the regional manager, Mr Kebaabetswe Bogatsu said preparations for the fair are at an advance stage and the Botswana Telecommunication Corporation Limited head, Mr Paul Taylor is expected to give a keynote address on May 27.

He said Mr Taylor who represents the main sponsor, BTCL is also expected to award prizes to the winners of the fair.    Mr Bogatsu said the fair will be opened to the public on May 27.

He said the organising team is working hard to bring yet another remarkable event following that of last year.

“In this year's fair we are trying by all means to come with strategies on how to enhance the fair and we are bringing an entrepreneur from Slovakia who will be sharing with us the business skills and also promote himself,” he said.

Mr Bogatsu said the team is also working hard to make this year's fair family oriented and making it a  fun park with the inclusion of quad bikes, games rooms, foam pools, zorb balls and go-karts.

He said there will be drones that will capturing live as well as recording all the activities that will be happening during the fair and also there will be screens in the two halls and at the marquee tent so that people will be able to see what is happening in the other sides.

Mr Bogatsu said a total of 210 exhibitors have shown their interest and have already paid for the stalls.He said in addition the Francistown youth have been allocated eight stalls for free to showcase their talent.

He said business seminars will also run concurrently with the fair and the gambling authority will be having a consultative forum.The theme of this year’s fair is Connecting Ideas, Creating Opportunities. ENDS
