CEDA to launch mobile offices

10 May 2016

Citizen Entrepreneurship Development Agency (CEDA) will launch its mobile offices next month .

Speaking at the official opening of the Hukuntsi CEDA office on May 6, CEDA chief executive officer, Mr Thabo Thamane said the agency had already procured two mobile offices that would serve the north and southern parts of the country.

Mr Thamane explained that mobile offices were well equipped with state of the art facilities which would provide communities with all the necessary services required.

Introduction of mobile offices, he said, was one of the many ways through which the agency was committed to taking services to all citizenry regardless of their localities.

He added that mobile offices would also be pivotal in reaching out to all aspiring and already existing entrepreneurs and give them the opportunity to engage with various entities on issues pertaining to business success.

Mr Thamane also explained that the whole concept of purchasing mobile offices, was primarily to service communities that could not easily access CEDA offices and bring services closer to all Batswana.

Further, he said they would continue to reach out and render its services to all communities through open days geared towards exposing its policies, particularly in areas where there were no CEDA offices.

“Open days are part of the agency’s efforts to sensitise various community on CEDA’s products and services as well as highlight its contribution to national priorities, with emphasis on stimulating economic involvement of all Batswana,” he said.

Further, he indicated that the establishment of the Hukuntsi office would contribute towards empowerment of citizens and provide opportunity for locals to venture into business and create employment for other Batswana particularly that it had proven difficult nowadays for people to find white collar jobs.

Also, he indicated that CEDA appreciated relentless efforts by local entrepreneurs to develop the economy through economic diversification and employment creation particularly in remote areas of the country hence the decision to open an office in Hukuntsi.

“In essence, the Hukuntsi office is bound to contribute, in no small measures, towards government continued efforts to develop, nurture and sustain such critical sectors of the economy such as manufacturing, tourism and hospitality as well as agriculture,” he said.

He pleaded with Kgalagadi residents to fully utilise the offices and pursue other business opportunities rather than focusing only on livestock farming projects. ENDS
