Association extends youth development

Tswapong Regional Football Association recently extended its youth development to villages in Tswapong area where over 200 boys and girls from both primary schools and junior school attended.
In an interview, Tswapong Region Youth Development chairperson, Brown Kgobe said the main purpose of the initiative was to nurture and identify talented football players at an early stage.
He said it was important to scout young players who can fit into the national team setup which is the under 15, 17 and 20.
Kgobe said the sessions were conducted by Stanley Mwanga and he was optimistic that with the vast football experience that he has, the children were in good hands.
He said the children leant the right techniques and tactics to prepare them for professional career in football. He also said teachers and coaches were trained on how to work with young players.
Kgobe thanked young players for coming in large numbers and for their cooperation throughout the sessions. He also thanked the teachers for their support.
Kgobe further said Lerala is not the only village that would benefit from such development and next will be Moshopha village.
He said they intend to hold different under 15, 17 and 19 youth leagues in Tswapong area to continue with their initiative of youth development. BOPA
