02 May 2016
Kgalagadi North Member of Parliament, Mr Itumeleng Moipisi has commended Ncaang Primary School for good academic performance and maintaining a 100 per cent pass rate in the past primary school leaving examinations.
Speaking at the trophy hand over for Kgalagadi North best performing primary school recently in Ncaang, Mr Moipisi applauded Ncaang Primary School for being the overall best performing school in Kgalagadi North constituency despite been a settlement school.
He said poor academic results in his constituency had over the years been a worrying factor, however there had been a slight improvement in last year’s education results across all schools in the region.
Mr Moipisi attributed Ncaang primary school’s achievement to a good working relationship that subsisted between the school management and the village leadership particularly the Parents Teachers Association.
He showed appreciation for the partnership which was developing between the community and the school especially in the area of child care as the country sought to encourage children to embrace a life that included the joy of reading, a passion of knowledge and the delight of lifelong learning.
He remained optimistic that the partnership between the school management and the community could only propel the school to better academic achievements only if all stakeholders played their role in the learning process.
Former Ncaang Primary School head, Mr Aubrey Mokgotho, credited the good results that the school obtained to the hard work from all stakeholders involved in the learning process .
Mr Mokgotho who was the school head from 2013 to 2015 stated that the school’s academic results graph had been on the raise since 2013. “The performance of the school has improved tremendously from 33 per cent in 2012 to 100 per cent in 2015 something which is testimony that the education sector in Kgaladadi is showing great signs of improvement,” he said.
He alluded to the fact that the school management introduced the evening study sessions through which he said students had the opportunity to have a one on one interaction with their teachers as a way of enhancing the learning process.
The evening study, he said was made possible by parents who had to buy candles that were used during the study sessions. ENDS
