Tsabong Regional Football Association will host Western block promotional play-offs in the weekend of May 14-15.

This was confirmed by the regional association secretary, Joseph Legeru in a meeting recently .

 The play-offs will see four teams battling it out for a spot in the Debswana First Division South league next season . 

In Tsabong, King Rodgers Sporting Club are by now confirmed Tsabong region champions and for Kang, Royal Stallions Football Club are other winners. 

In Hukuntsi and Ghanzi, the winning duo is yet to be confirmed.

Meanwhile, Tokyo Modise an official of the league  said the association was aiming to raise the number of teams competing in the Western block league next season from three to a more reasonable number. 

He stated that he had already consulted representatives of the defunct Cruel Mosquito of Omaweneno and two other teams in Werda  but was still awaiting their formal agreement . 

Modise said enlisting  more teams was beneficial to the league as it made it more competitive and appealing.

Modise said  to make the event a success, the association planned to engage several stakeholders. 

He noted that they would rope in medical institutions such as hospitals to aid players who will be in need of medical attention throughout the games.

Another official, William Mpete said most teams still failed to comply with the demands of their respective constitutions. 

“ All  our  teams are societies and their constitutions require them to meet at least once in a year, but our teams are failing to implement this simple requirement.

 The time has come for our teams to put their house in order or face consequences from Registrar of Companies.”

Mpete also urged clubs to inculcate the spirit of nurturing talent from a young age by forming under 17 teams. ENDS
