Prisons ladies drop points
18 Apr 2016
Prisons ladies have relegated to position three after playing to a one all draw in a Women super league game played at Prison Ground.
The Warders have been in the summit of the log, but their draw has ensured that Township Rollers displace them after beating UB Kicks 3-0.
Although the match started late because of socks colour clash, that did not deter the girls to start the game at a very high tempo with both teams attacking each other.
On the 15th minute, Meat Girls could have registered an opener but Ontefetse Kgatlhegang decided to squander the opportunity by not putting more power to the ball.
Equally, the Warders had their share of opportunities but lack of composure and poor decision making costed them dearly.
In the 37th minute, Prisons could have equally opened the score sheet but One Botshabelo left with only goalkeeper to beat, ballooned the ball to the disappointment of Prison supporters.
The game went for break with both teams at loggerheads with 0-0, but after the break Prisons took their opponents by surprise before they could even settle in the game when Keletso Walebowa opened the score sheet in the 48th the minute.
It was evident that the goal had added spark in the game, and both girls showed little respect for each other in the field.
In the 70th minute, Meat Girls were awarded a free kick, and Refilwe Matlho managed to win the ball in the goal mouth scramble and netted it home, to make it 1-1.
In other games played on Saturday , Double Action clobbered Makufa SC 8-1 at Bosele Primary School, Big Sister redeemed their pride by beating relegation -bound Untouchable 1-0 at Masa Primary School.
On Sunday Gaborone United humiliated struggling FC Legends 10-0 while South East Girls beat Kanye Swallows 3-0 in Ramotswa. ENDS
