Youth finds niche in draghting business
12 Apr 2016
A 30-year-old Bobonong youth businessman, Mr Goitsemang Sebakile believes that determination and patience are key to succeed in a business.
He owns Sebstar Designs, a company that makes plans for houses, shopping complexes, boundary walls, just to mention a few.
Mr Sebakile is armed with a certificate in architectural draghting from Nswazi Brigade.
In an interview, Mr Sebakile said he started his company in June 2015 with his own funds.
Mr Sebakile said he uses social media, word of mouth, flyers and signage as strategies for marketing his business.
He said since his company started operating, he has designed plans for more than 10 houses that were already completed and ready for occupation.
“I am proud of my excellent customer service that I give to my clients.
This makes them to come back for my services,” he continued.
He said his clients also recommend his service to other new customers.
Mr Sebakile said even though he was facing challenges in his business, he said people in the village were not used to build houses using plans, adding that those who want to build their houses using plans were also not familiar with the prices charged.
He stressed that some people have a tendency of wanting expensive plans at cheap prices.
“Youth businesses can be sustainable if they can get support from government departments by offering youth businesses tenders,” he emphasised.
“So far, Bobirwa Sub District Council is sending beneficiaries of Self Help Housing Agency (SHHA) to me so that I do house plans for them as I am the only company that is designing plans in the village,” said Mr Sebakile. ENDS
