The Tawana Land Board engaged a consultancy to identify tourism sites around the Okavango Delta in 2009, the Minister of Environment, Wildlife and Tourism, Mr Tshekedi Khama told Parliament on Thursday.

He said following excessive floods in 2011/12, the land board assembled a technical team to verify the existence of the sites and if they had been affected by the high delta floods.

He said once the sites were handed over to the ministry, normal land bank processes to distribute the land to potential investors shall be followed.

The MP for Okavango, Mr Bagalatia Arone had asked the minister to how many tourism sites had been identified in the Okavango Delta and how the sites could be acquired. Ends
