Ramotswa routes upgrading in plan
06 Apr 2016
Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Ms Botlogile Tshireletso has told Parliament that all the routes that were left out during construction of Ramotswa internal roads will be considered for upgrading in NDP 11.
Ms Tshireletso said in the interim, the ministry through South East District Council would undertake a project to pave Route 6 road to Dingaka Association with inter-locking pavers, during the 2016/17 financial year using the recurrent budget. She said the draft audit report for Ramotswa internal roads was submitted to the South East District Council on September 11, 2015 and subsequently tabled before the District Audit Committee on November 20, 2015.
She also said the council through its audit committee had made comments on the report and submitted to the Auditor General for incorporation, prior to the financial audit report being presented to relevant council structures to facilitate action.
Ms Tshireletso was responding to a question posed by Ramotswa MP, Mr Samuel Rantuana who had asked when the tarring of Route 3 road in Taung and all other routes that were left out during the tarring of the Ramotswa internal roads be considered. He had also wanted to know when Ramotswa internal roads audit report would be made public. Ends
