No agricultural officer for Sikwane
06 Apr 2016
The Minister of Agriculture, Mr Patrick Ralotsia, says there are no considerations to post an agricultural officer to Sikwane boarder post.
When answering a question in Parliament on Tuesday, Mr Ralotsia noted that animal feeds crossing into Botswana needed both sides of the border; that is South Africa and Botswana to be involved.
He said at present there were no bilateral negotiations or agreements between the two countries on the matter.
The Member of Parliament for Mochudi East, Mr Isaac Davids, had asked the minister if he would consider posting an agricultural officer at the Sikwane Boarder Post on a permanent basis to enable the area farmers to cross with animal feeds into Botswana form South Africa, instead of crossing at Tlokweng Boarder Post.
