First Sun Alliance Insurance Brokers has announced Ms Tiny Kgatlwane as its new  executive director effective 31 March 2016.

This follows the acquisition of a majority stake of 51 per cent shareholding of the company by Ms Tebatso Lekalake, Ms Keneilwe Mere and Ms Kgaotsang Matthews.

Addressing the media on Tuesday, the managing director of First Sun Alliance, Mr Paul Chitate said the development was a strategic move aimed to win the future in Botswana and regionally.

He said First Sun Alliance was now a true Botswana entity.

“This is a very exciting time for First Sun Alliance. We have new majority shareholders whom we have entrusted to take First Alliance to even greater heights. Our business approach is premised on building personal relationships and excelling on service. Our commitment to service will now be enhanced by Mma Kgatlwane’s extensive experience and exceptional business acumen,” said Mr Chitate.

For her part, the executive director of First Sun Alliance said they want to enhance customer experience and service delivery.

She said they were one of a few, if not the only insurance broker that was 51 per cent owned by Batswana.

She said she was proud to be joining the institution and keen to drive it to the next level.

“It is a great pleasure to join the team. I look forward to contributing towards its growth and enhancing the prevalent peace of mind of our distinguished clients,” said Ms Kgatlwane.

First Sun Alliance was founded by Mr Chitate in 1999 as an insurance broking company under the provision of the Botswana Insurance Act and has since grown to become a regional operator. It is now registered in South Africa and Zimbabwe. Ends
