Road to be upgraded

The Minister of Transport and Communications, Mr Tshenolo Mabeowill says his ministry will continue to grade the 24-kilometre Modipane/Mabalane road on a monthly basis. Mr Mabeo also said his ministry has plans to upgrade the road, last graded in December 2015, to a bituminous standard through the Economic Stimulus Programme. He added that the upgrading was planned to commence in the financial year 2017/18.
The MP for Mochudi East, Mr Isaac Davids had asked the minister to update Parliament on the status of the Modipane/Mabalane road linking the capital city to the river villages and to an international border post at Sikwane.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Dr Pelonomi Venson-Moitoi, answering on behalf on the Minister of Defence, Justice and Security, told Parliament that Botswana Defence Force (BDF) did not have any vehicles nor were BDF vehicles repaired at De-Wet Drilling Company in Rasesa.
The MP for Mochudi East, Mr Issac Davids had asked why BDF vehicles were seen and repaired at De-Wet Drilling Company in Rasesa. Ends
