The Minister of Minerals , Energy and Water Resources, Mr Kitso Mokaila says he is aware that Mosetse is not well covered by the electricity network, and that some households are not within the electricity network area. He said Mosetse would, subject to availability of funds, be considered for future network extensions to cater for households that were outside the network supply area.

The minister said electricity distribution and connection between Mosetse Brigade and mining houses were dedicated consumer supplies and have been properly undertaken in line with the consumer requirements. “It is worth noting that the initial design was meant for connection of the brigade only which had paid the full connection costs and the design was further extended to accommodate the mine,” he said. Mr Polson Majaga had asked the minister if he was aware that electricity distribution or connection in Mosetse between Mosetse Bridge and mining houses was not properly done, and that the people of Mosetse were not connected whereas the brigade and mining houses were connected. Ends
