The BoFiNet Softball League heats up a notch this weekend as Bracket A teams lock horns in Jwaneng to fight for a spot in top eight.

Upon the culmination of the first round, teams where seeded so as to evenly categorise them into two brackets.

In Bracket A men are South zone log leaders, Wells and Vikings, Gatalamotho and BMC. The are  joined by North zone teams Comets and Rail Giants.

From the ladies division, Bracket A comprises South zone log leaders Police, Panthers and BDF while in the North are Rail Giants and Carats.

In Bracket B men are South zone teams, BDF, Bears, Panthers and Police while the Northerners are represented by Carats and Rebels.

In the ladies division are Southern zone teams Bears, Dinare and Wells joined by North teams Comets and Motlakase.

Bracket B men is expected to be exciting with defending champions BDF, who are currently in position two on the log, will clash with arch rivals Panthers, who are 2015 runners-up.

However, Panthers struggled in the first round as they finished in position six with teams such as Wells having raised the bar to finish at the top of the log. Wells enjoy home ground advantage this weekend in Jwaneng together with Gatalamotho, but it won't be easy with tough contenders such as feisty Rail Giants in the same bracket.

If Police play their cards right in Bracket A ladies and maintain their good form, they will qualify as they are the power house in that bracket. 

Bracket B ladies is the clash of the titans with Bears having staged a dramatic comeback and look poised to reclaim their glory.

League defending champions, Wells is full of surprises and anything can be expected from them. 

Northern teams have always struggled to lift silverware especially in the ladies category, probably because there are fewer teams in the North.

The Bracket B clash is scheduled for Selebi Phikwe on March 19- 20.

The top eight teams from both the men and ladies categories will qualify for the next round which will be played at a later stage. Ends
