Mahalapye is scheduled to host Eastern Block First Division North play-offs scheduled for May 7 and 8 this year.

Speaking in an interview recently, the public relations officer for Central South Region Football Association (CSRFA), Mogonono Maseba said teams which will win Division One League this season in four regions being Central South, Tswapong, Phikwe and Central North will meet in Mahalapye to battle it out for one spot in Debswana First Division North.

Maseba said as CSRFA, they will soon convene a meeting to form a Local Organising Committee (LOC) in order to prepare for the games and work with stake holders like Mahalapye Hospital, Mahalapye Police, the hospitality and transport sector as well as the community at large since the play offs are a big event which will require input from different stakeholders.

Meanwhile, Maseba said Central South Region Division One is slowly drawing to an end with only three games remaining. He said the Central South league race continues to get hotter every weekend.

He added that though quite a few teams still have a mathematical chance of claiming the throne, the focus seems to be more on Mahalapye United with 21 points and Boston FC with 14 points and to some extent, the defending champions, Man Machine with 13 points whereas at the bottom of the log lies Tshikinyega FC with 7 points. Ends
