Guard house project on
08 Mar 2016
Completion of the guard house at Tsogang Primary School in Gaborone delayed due to failure by the company that was awarded the tender to supply Gaborone City Council with materials required for the project.
The Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Miss Botlogile Tshireletso said this resulted in council retendering for a new supplier.
Responding to a parliamentary question on Monday, Ms Tshireletso said the project had subsequently been completed and it was being utilised by the security personnel at the school.
“There are however minor snagging items/defects and an instruction for electricity connection the builder is still to attend. Both the snagging items and the electricity connection are planned to have been completed by end of March 2016,” she said.
The assistant minister further said Gaborone City Council has not incurred any additional cost to the project due to the delay.
The MP for Gaborone North, Mr Haskins Nkaigwa had asked the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development how long it would take to complete the guard house at Tsogang Primary School for which development started in September 2014.
He also wanted to know the cause of the delay and the cost that would be incurred due to the delay. ENDS
