Brucellosis Vaccine not available
08 Mar 2016
Ministry of Agriculture has stopped vaccination against Brucellosis, after it was found through surveillance that it was absent in the national herd.
Answering a question in parliament on Monday, Minister of Agriculture, Mr Patrick Ralotsia said the farming community was informed through a press release in August 2014.
He said his ministry still vaccinates for anthrax and black Quarter at no cost to farmers who owns less than 100 cattle using experienced private veterinary officers paid at P4.00 per beast for farmers paid by government.
Furthermore, he said, farmers who own more than 100 cattle were encouraged to collect the vaccines from the Department of Veterinary Services (DVS) offices country wide, adding that they vaccinate their cattle and submit the records of vaccination back to the office. ENDS
