BancABC has announced its partnership with the Botswana Stock Exchange (BSE) by joining the inaugural BSE Listings Conference billed for Gaborone next week.

According to a  press release from BancABC, the bank comes on board as a gold sponsor by giving out P100 000 towards the event, which would see over 200 Botswana businesses convene at GICC.

The conference, the first of its kind in Botswana, aims to empower businesses with the requisite information pertaining to listing on the local bourse.

The release states that, as the third largest stock exchange in terms of market capitalisation in Southern Africa and averaging 24 per cent aggregate return in the past decade, the BSE plays host to the most preeminent companies doing business in Botswana.

It further states that these companies represent a spectrum of industries and commerce, from Banking and Financial services to Wholesaling and Retailing, Tourism and Information Technology.

The bourse seeks to meet market participants’ requirements for reliability, integrity, performance, capacity and cost effectiveness, and continues to be pivotal to Botswana’s financial system and in particular the capital market, as an avenue on which government, quasi- government and the private sector can raise debt and equity capital, the release stated. ENDS
