03 Mar 2016
The Assistant Minister for Presidential Affairs and Public Administration, Mr Dikgang Makgalemele says there was no money transferred to Directorate of Intelligence and Security from disaster fund.Mr Makgalemele said this when answering a question from Member of Parliament for Francistown South, Mr Wynter Mmolotsi.
He however said money from disaster fund was used to assist in the setting up of the Directorate of Intelligence and Security because the organisation was new and needed urgent funding. Mr Makgalemele said it has to be noted that since 2009/2010 the ministry has budgeted P5 million annually for purposes of replenishing the National Disaster Relief Fund (NDRF). The Francistown South legislators had wanted to know whether the money that was transferred from the Disaster Fund to Director of Intelligence and Security was ever returned, how that was done and when.
