Over 14 000 change land ownership

The Minister of Lands and Housing, Mr Prince Maele says 14 145 people changed ownership of land in Gaborone from 2000 to 2015.
He said some of the reasons for changing ownership were but not limited to sale in execution, donation, developers and estate transfers.
Minister Maele said the most dominating reason was the normal personal transfers which stood at 59. 25 per cent.
The MP for Gaborone North, Mr Haskins Nkaigwa had asked the Minister to state the number of people who changed ownership of land in Gaborone from the year 2000 to date and the reasons for change of ownership and those that were dominating. Ends
