Orapa United officially launched their supporters’ branches at Itekeng Recreational Club in Orapa on Saturday. About 50 supporters attended the launch wearing their team replica. Already, the team has two branches in Orapa and Letlhakane.

The team’s executive committee and the supporters’ branch committee were introduced to supporters. The event also unveiled branded banners and wristbands for the two branches.
Speaking at the launch, Orapa Supporters Branch chairperson Shingani Kesalopa urged the supporters to recruit others around the Boteti region and beyond.

“Our team is doing well in the league even though we are not coming to stadia in large numbers and not attending away games. Imagine, if we were to fill up the stadium every game, including away games. It would be a morale boost for our boys to win games with high margins,” Kesalopa said.

He assured supporters that the executive committee is fully behind them. He encouraged the supporters to get involved in the running of their branches so as to strengthen the bond between the executive committee and local communities.

The branches are currently raising money to build a house for a needy person in Xere. They have already raised P29 000.

The proceedings of the day ended with a motorcade followed by a Mascom Top 8 match, which ended with a music show featuring Noello and ATI at the Orapa Sports hall. Ends
