Sky is limit for Tops

After an incredible start in the music industry by releasing his first CD in 2014 titled O ntshwantsha le aye , the Ghanzi vibrant Kgalagadi folk musician who joined the music industry in 2014 has now released his first debut DVD and Kgosi 'Tops' ’Sebulelo brings in an exotic Kgalagari tune into the traditional music industry.
“In most of the songs I produced, I use sekgalagadi language because my main mandate is to promote the diminishing culture of the Bakgalagadi,” Kgosi said adding that his music is largely popular in the kgalagadi region.
Kgosi said being called for interview in shows such as the morning breakfast show where he got motivation gave his music an opportunity to be aired on different radio stations.
The DVD which comprises five tracks with two bonuses will soon be launched in different places such as Kang, Ghanzi,Maun, Hukuntsi, and other parts of Botswana. Kgosi said the DVD mainly focuses in the history of the Bakgalagadi culture and got awards in different competitions such as the President day competitionS where he scooped position two.
This has helped him distribute his DVD as he has already created himself a platform. He also said one of the things that hinders the growth in the music industry was piracy.
“Recently I had one of my friends telling me that he met one lady at Gaborone bus rank selling his title track Maburu for P5 and most taxi men have showed love for the track,” added Kgosi.
Kgosi also said having acquired sponsorship and donations from several entities, individuals and organisations such as the Ministry of aArts Sport and culture who sponsored his project to the tune of P32 000, LA food restaurant and Mr Tony Sebabi with transport during video shootings has helped his DVD to be the best. Kgosi also applauded the community of Ghanzi for their support in making the DVD as they appeared in different sites of the DVD shootings. Kgosi also advised young upcoming artistes to work hard in promoting the “diminishing” culture of Bakgalagadi as well as other tribes. Ends
