Drama mars Tafic All Stars game

Tafic's 4-0 drubbing of Palapye All Stars in a Debswana First Division North fixture played at the Old Francistown Stadium on Saturday afternoon was filled with drama.
The game started on a low note, with both teams not showing any sense of urgency. The strikers were wasteful and even the water break on the 20th minute, could not rejuvenate them.
In the 22nd minute, Tafic striker Uyapo Thathuwe however made a solo effort with a brilliant run and opened the score for the hosts, beating Meshack Rest in Palapye All Stars goalposts.
Just when everybody was about to forget the lackadaisical first half, referee, Moemedi Tlhabologang stopped the game on the 44th minute when Rest was about to place a goal kick.
The no nonsense referee reached for his back pocket and showed a straight red card to the visiting team’s goal minder, leaving the side in disarray as it had brought no reserve goalkeeper and had only three substitutes.
Rest was to later let BOPA know when he was heading for the early shower that the referee had accused him of insulting another fellow player, Tafic’s diminutive striker Allen Dewere.
“Referee a re ke rogile player e nngwe. Ga ke itse gore o raya a nkutlwile jang ka ne a le kgakala,” said Rest who was at this time left in his boxer shorts having handed the kit over to his captain, Godfrey Baotleleng.
The lanky Baotleleng, who started the game as the top striker had to lead by example by immediately donning the goalkeeper’s gloves and manned the posts, turning his attack into defence.
Referee Tlhabologang had to wait for about three minutes before restarting the game as Palapye officials had to rush to the combi transporting them to look for a goalkeeper jersey to be donned by the captain. Ends
