Women and Sport Botswana (WASBO) -Gaborone Region will launch the 'It's On Us' campaign aimed at encouraging the sports community and the society at large to join efforts in fighting for protection of girls in sport against sexual harassment and abuse. The campaign will be launched tomorrow 9am at Oasis Motel. 

“The 'It's On Us' campaign is an international campaign that was launched by the White House in the United State of America calling for protection of college girls against abuse and assault. It is a rallying cry inviting everyone to step up and realize that the solution begins with us. It is a declaration that sexual assault/ harassment is not only a crime committed by a perpetrator against a victim, but a societal problem in which all of us have a role to play,” WASBO says in a statement. 

It said the event will afford different sporting codes, officials, athletes and the audience an opportunity to share on the measures they have taken to guard against the sexual harassment in sport at their individual sporting codes and the importance of having such measures. The forum will then conclude with commitment to action by the participants. Ends
