The Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development will submit the installation of street lights in Hukuntsi for consideration as a proposal to be included in the ongoing National Development Plan 11 compilation.

Assistant minister in the ministry,  Ms Botlogile Tshireletso said a project for the construction of internal roads in Kang started with the procurement of consultants to undertake a design review, which would be followed by compensation of affected properties and procurement of a contractor.

“This component of the project commenced on 3rd February 2016 and construction will be undertaken thereafter,” she said.

The Member of Parliament for Kgalagadi North, Mr Itumeleng Moipisi had wanted to know if the minister would consider installing street lights in Hukuntsi and constructing internal roads in Kang to accord them the status of a sub district administration headquarters and service centre respectively.
