No television coverage for kgosi installation

The Assistant Minister for Presidential Affairs and Public Administration, Mr Dikgang Makgalamele said he was aware that there was no Botswana Television (BTV) coverage during the installation of Maboane Kgosi.
Answering a parliamentary question on Monday, Mr Makgalemele said Radio Botswana covered the installation on the news and Tatediso ya Dikgang
He said to optimise available resources, Letlhakeng Sub –district is serviced from the Information and Broadcasting office in Molepolole which covers the Kweneng District and its catchment areas.
He further noted that records show that BTV covers Takatokwane constituency in most events. “For instance, from February 2015 to January 2016, 19 events were covered in the constituency,” he said.
Mr Makgalemele highlighted that the events included three Kgotla meetings in Takatokwane, Sesung and Metsibotlhoko in the months of March, April and June 2015. Victory celebrations for Primary School Leaving Examinations in Tshwaane was covered in May 2015 as well as a tour of Mahupu Unified School in November 2015.
MP for Takatokwane, Mr Ngaka Ngaka had asked the minister if he was aware that there was no BTV coverage during the enthronement of Kgosi Maboane.
He also asked “whether it is not opportune that BTV should have an office in Letlhakeng Sub district, and why BTV regularly fails to cover events especially in the Takatokwane constituency.” Ends
