Poor defending costs Sankoyo Bush Bucks

Sankoyo Bush Bucks’s poor defending in their encounter with BDF XI at Maun Sports Complex on Saturday has been cited as the reason the team went down 3-1.
The two BDF XI’s goals were own goals by Ngurungu.
Ngurungu’s lacklustre defending came into the spotlight in the first minutes of the game when the team conceded after an own goal by the defence, which clearly signaled poor communication.
Matebele started the game on a high note and piling pressure on their hosts who appeared to have lost concentration, especially the defence which made countless mistakes which they got punished for. Sankoyo coach, Tiiso Gadimang said in an interview that lack of experience, especially in the defending department, was the major contribution to their loss. He said in the first half his players panicked and seemed to be relaxed in the midfield giving their opponents a chance to make easy passes.
Gadimang noted that his team still needs an experienced defender and midfielder who could lead and guide at the back. He expressed disappointment over his team’s performance, but stated that the league was a marathon and that all they have to do was to build the players’ confidence, give them support and see what would happen throughout the season.
Gadimang is optimistic that they could turn the tables in the remaining nine matches, and get positive results to remain in the league for the next season.
However, coach Beston Chambeshi’s side played like champions from the first minute, as they caused confusion amongst their rivals which resulted with an own goal hardly three minutes after the game started. Sankoyo defenders made a silly mistake in the dangerous area as they failed to communicate and their goal keeper had no chance to stop the ball. Ngurungu goal keeper, Karabo “Scara” Ramatlapeng had to work extra hard to block brilliant shots from BDF strikers.
Ngurungu’s youthful striker, Gosaitse Manuel leveled matters in the 25th minute with a brilliant goal. In the 32nd minute, Matebele took the lead again through Kumbulani Madziba.
In the second half, both teams made several substitutions. results. In the 90th minute Ngurungu made a silly mistake resulting in another own goal.
