10 Feb 2016

Lady Khama Charitable Trust has introduced a Run 21 wellness arena which aims to get as many health clubs and services to showcase their products and teach runners about health and wellness.

Addressing a press conference in Gaborone on Tuesday, the chairperson of the Lady Khama Charitable Trust, Dale Ter Haar said there were many other forms of exercising besides running.

He said some organisations such as health service providers, clubs as well as gyms would be available at the wellness arena to inform the runners.

Meanwhile, the Lady Khama Run 21 has set a target of P100 000 to be raised this year. According to the chairperson, this came after constructive feedback from the 2015 runners and organisers.

Ter Haar noted that Sefalana would once again sponsor goodie bags for the event which would only be limited to the 10km and 21.2km entries.

He also highlighted that there would be finisher medals for the first, second and third positions and envelopes for both male and females in junior, open, master and veteran categories.

Registration for the 5km fun run will be P50, P100 for the 10km run, while the 21.1km run will be registered at P150. Registration closes at midnight on 21 February. Ends
