At least eight German companies in the solar photovoltaic and energy sector are expected to visit Botswana on a business mission.

The companies intend to explore business opportunities and build business partnerships with local companies in the renewable energy sector on Monday at Lansmore Hotel in Gaborone.

A press release says the visit follows the information workshop which was held in Germany, and organised by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs. The workshop was hosted under the theme: Opportunities for Photovoltaic in Zambia and Botswana:

During the workshop, Botswana’s Ambassador to Germany, and Botswana’s company named Energy Systems Group participated, says the release.

It is the culmination of discussions with the Southern African-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry and its Competence Centre: Sustainable Energy and the German Agency for International Development (GIZ), in which Botswana is viewed as an ideal location to offer the know-how and services in the solar energy sector.

It will also showcase German companies' products and related services and further provide an opportunity for a one-on-one meetings with interested local companies to discuss joint venture opportunities. Ends
