The Assistant Minister of Agriculture, Mr Kgotla Autlwetse, says he is aware that the Botswana Meat Commission (BMC) is considering to retrench some of its staff. Answering a question in Parliament on Monday, he said the Cabinet was still considering the matter.
Parliament was informed that the retrenchment would reduce BMC high costs of production. The assistant minister was responding to a question by Francistown West MP, Mr Ignatius Moswaane who asked the minister if he was aware there are plans to retrench workers at BMC and to state the reasons and total estimated number of retrenchments.
