The Saturday inter-club boxing championship was successful, according to Botswana Boxing Association (BoBA) public relations officer, Kenney Maragana.
The tournament attracted 11 clubs from around the country.
Maragana said he was impressed by the attendance and support, which was accorded the participating teams.
One of the fights, which showed true commitment and the love for boxing was between Johnson Kulubei of Mafika Boxing Club and Hamal Jajbhai of 1.2.5 Boxing Club.
The two boxers drew cheers from everyone who was watching as the 60kg lads exchanged their fierce fists.
The fight, which was undoubtedly one of the best in the tournament, caught the eye of Maraga who said he was pleased that the local boxing arena was getting the attention and attendance of foreigners residing in Botswana.
The opening fight between Ian Puleng of DTCB and Omogolo Botsheleng of Prisons Boxing Club was fast paced and really entertaining as the two fighters did not want to disappoint in the opening match.
Puleng won the scintillating bout.
As expected, there was a day’s highlight as Kefentse Molalapata of UB Boxing Club won against Thabo Mpolokeng of 1.2.5 boxing Club. The match between the two 60kg boys was however not a walk over for the winner as they gave the supportive attendants a great spectacular event. Kefentse, however, emerged victorious. Ends
