Ministry defers Khudumelapye water connection project

Minister of Minerals, Energy and Water Resources says it will not be cost effective to connect Khudumelapye to Sorilatholo as the water surplus from that plant is negligible and will not make a difference towards addressing the deficit of the Khudumelapye supply.
Answering a question in Parliament, Mr Kitso Mokaila said there was an extension to connect Khudumelapye to Letlhakeng scheme during the 2014/2015 financial year but due to prevailing financial constraints, it remained deferred.
Member of Parliament for Takatokwane, Mr Ngaka Ngaka, had asked the minister to update Parliament on the Khudumelapye water connection to Sorilatholo Treatment Plant and to state when it was going to be done.ENDS
