Sponsorship re-energises Miscellaneous

02 Feb 2016

Chairperson of Miscellaneous football club, Seipheto Sefhako says it is their dream to mould the team into a winning side.

Speaking during the official launch of the team’s technical sponsorship worth P250 000 courtesy of Botswana Life Insurance Limited (BLIL) on Saturday, Sefhako said they want to become pacesetters like Mochudi Centre Chiefs, which is usually a point of reference as one of the most successful teams in the country.

He said they also want the team to have a junior side and a female team.

Thus, he said companies such as

BLIL would make their dream become a reality if they keep supporting football.

He explained that the team was struggling with paying players’ salaries, hence he pleaded with the insurer to consider helping them beyond the technical sponsorship.

He highlighted that the team was founded so as to bring different people together hence the name, Miscellanous.

The team, he said was founded by first President, Sir Seretse Khama, among others, while President Lt. Gen Seretse Khama Ian Khama, is now the team president.

BLIL official, Thomas Masifhi said, as the oldest insurance company in the country, they were happy to be in partnership with one of the oldest teams after the likes of Township Rollers and Gaborone United.

Masifhi said they hope that the technical sponsorship, which is for the 2015/2016 season, would boost the morale of the team on camp and on the field.

He said his company is constantly looking for opportunities to support local talent, partner with communities and contribute positively to the social dynamics of Batswana.

He appealed to members of the public to buy the insurance company’s shares as listed under the Botswana Insurance Holdings Limited (BIHL), a company listed on the Botswana Stock Exchange.

He said  the Botswana Insurance Fund Management and Legal Guard were also subsidiaries of BIHL.

He added that they had business associates such the Funeral Services Group and Letshego.

Bangwato deputy chief, Serogola Seretse described the sponsorship as a breakthrough for the team and assured the sponsor that the Serowe-based side would deliver impressive results. Ends
