Mahalapye Hotspurs appeal for sponsorship

27 Jan 2016

Debswana First Division North log leaders, Mahalapye Hotspurs, have appealed for financial assistance in order to realise their dream of gaining promotion to the elite league.

Speaking in an interview recently, the team’s manager,  Ziba Tau, said they were in the process of looking for sponsors, but their efforts had not been successful.

Tau said they needed money for transport, wages and accommodation. He applauded Mr Thabo Sechele of the Thama Farms for loaning the team a mini bus for this season, though he said they were struggling to meet fuel expenses.

Their target was to maintain the top spot in First Division North and ultimately get promoted to BeMobile Premiership.

He said they were aware that their two closest competitors; Ecco City Greens and Sua Flamingoes were well resourced and they had backing of their respective communities a factor that gave the two teams an advantage over Mahalapye Hotspurs.

In other issues Tau said Mahalapye Hotspurs had managed to sign Kgosietsile Thebe who is a defender from Lobatse Stars, Chabaesele Mositwane from Lesirane FC as well as Galelatlhwe Gimmy from Kudumatse Home Defenders and Onkokame Matsela from BR Highlanders.

He said they were in negotiations to sign one defender from a division one side in Mahalapye. Mahalapye Hotspurs are scheduled to play second position Sua Flamingoes away this weekend.  Ends
