Stop staging livestock predation

29 Apr 2013

The Ministry of Environment, Wildlife and Tourism has warned farmers against staging livestock predation.

In a press release, the ministry states that some farmers colluded with foreign nationals to stage incidents of livestock predation in order to claim compensation from government.

The release also states that such perpetrators illegally killed and harvested certain parts from wild animals for illicit trade.

It further says they would later surrender skins and other animal remains to the Department of Wildlife and National Parks to legitimise their claims for losses against predators.

Thus, the ministry has warned all those who intended to commit such acts to desist forthwith or will face the wrath of the law. ENDS
